Year 6 Transition

We look forward very much to welcoming your child to Uffculme, and to getting to know you as their parents or carers

Thank you for choosing Uffculme School for your child’s secondary education.  I sincerely hope that we live up to the trust which you have placed in us.

Headteacher's Welcome to our new Year 7 Students and their Families

We are delighted to welcome all our new Year 7 students to Uffculme School and look forward to meeting them in person in the coming months.  We recognise that some children will feel completely ready to leave their primary school and move on, whilst others might be more hesitant and be anxious about the change ahead.  Whichever group your child is in, moving to secondary school is a big step and we know there will be lots of questions about how their new school works.  Through this webpage and our various communications with our new students and their parents/ carers we will do all we can to reassure them and to ensure that they have all the information they need to ensure that have the most positive start at Uffculme School possible.

The most important thing to know however, is that everyone here at the school (staff and students) is fully committed to making sure our new students are as happy and settled as they can be as they join us.

You are joining a school that is fiercely ambitious for each of our students – we really do want the very best for each of you and will work tirelessly to not only help you achieve well, but also become wonderful young people prepared and equipped for the modern, global world in which we live.

To get the best out of their time at Uffculme School, we simply ask three things of our students:

·         To work hard in all you do

·         To join in and have a go at all the wonderful new opportunities that will be available

·         To be kind and supportive towards others, whether they are close friends or not

We know from experience that if students follow these simple principles they will not only thrive in the school, but also lay the best possible foundations for life.

Miss Bartlett (Head of Year 7) and Miss Dobbinson (Assistant Headteacher - Inclusion and SEND) have responsibility for overseeing Year 7 and will ensure that your child is given the very best start to life here at Uffculme School.
