The Library is open Monday to Friday 8am until 5pm.

We hold books and DVDs for students and staff to borrow as well as a wide variety of daily and weekly newspapers and magazines. The library is staffed at break and lunchtimes, when students are encouraged to use the facilities for study and leisure. We have laptop computers with full Internet access and there are digital cameras, video cameras and microphones available for students to use during lessons.

We want to encourage students to read as often and as widely as possible. All students are automatically enrolled as library members when they join the school and make regular visits to the library with their tutors to borrow books. Uffculme School Library invites Authors in to run workshops with students and there is a reading and creative writing club every Tuesday at 1.45 which your child will be most welcome to attend to stimulate their reading and writing skills.

There are recommended reading lists available and the Librarian will be happy to support your child’s reading journey if you would like to contact her.

All students are encouraged to develop their research and information handling skills and the Library works closely with the ICT department to promote safe use of the internet.
